OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma District Attorney Vicki Behenna announced on Monday an Oklahoma couple charges have been upgraded after prosecutors reviewed what they alleged are “horrendous details” of the case.
According to the DA Behenna’s office, “Charges against the pair were upgraded to First Degree Murder after prosecutors reviewed the horrendous details of the case. The range of punishment on First Degree Murder is life or life without the possibility of parole.”
Darci Lambert, 24, and Jorden McGuire, 34, will now face first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty in connection with the dog mauling death of their 2-year-old daughter at their home in northeast Oklahoma City, said Behenna’s office.
“This is an unspeakably tragic case,” said Vicki Zemp Behenna, Oklahoma CountyDistrict Attorney. “Lambert and McGuire’s complete disregard for the health, safety, and welfare of their child, and their failure to protect her despite knowing she was at risk, led to her death.”…
