OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – A recent school bus accident that left a six-year-old dead has a lawmaker pushing for additional safety measures in neighborhoods near schools in South Oklahoma City.
“There are things that we can do as public officials and administrators to increase safety,” said State Representative Mickey Dollens (D-Oklahoma City).
Rep. Dollens says the recent accident that claimed the life of Fillmore Elementary student, Adrian Salgado, highlights the need for sidewalks and crosswalks in South OKC neighborhoods.

“I was successful on my own block getting a sidewalk to lead right up to Southern Hills Elementary,” Rep. Dollens said. “It took about two years, and this sidewalk was built about five years ago, and the difference has been incredible.”…
