NEWCASTLE, Okla. (KFOR) – A man has been taken into custody after a police pursuit and crash in Newcastle Thursday night.
According to the Newcastle Police Department, an officer tried to pull over a vehicle for an expired tag. During the stop, the officer noticed the driver showed signs of impairment and asked him to exit the vehicle. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Kenneth Skaggs, then drove off at a high rate of speed.

Newcastle PD, alongside the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police Department, began the pursuit as Skaggs traveled north onto the I-44 service road and onto I-44.
