Motorists traversing the intersection of NW Expressway and Hefner Road can expect smoother drives and likely fewer bottlenecks now that the City of Oklahoma City has announced the completion of extensive road work in the area. This upgrade, made possible through Streets Development Impact Fees, promises to not only improve the flow of traffic but also enhance the general safety for drivers and pedestrians alike.
In a social media post on their official Facebook page, the City of Oklahoma City – Government shared that the road work project encompassed several key improvements. Among these were the addition of a new right-turn lane and the elongation of the dedicated left turn for eastbound NW Expressway traffic. Commuters on the northbound Kilpatrick Turnpike also stand to benefit from the addition of an right-turn lane. “Road work has been completed at NW Expressway and Hefner Road,” the post announced, outlining the project’s enhancements which also included upgrades to signal poles, traffic lights, and ADA infrastructure.
