OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Christmas is around the corner, and angels who partnered with the Salvation Army are getting ready to make the holiday special for lots of families.
KFOR got a look inside their warehouse that’s full of donated gifts from participants in their angel tree program
Volunteers were dotting their I’s and crossing their T’s on Monday before the big day. You can consider it Santa’s workshop in a way, as they sorted gifts throughout the building to make sure all the right bags of gifts are in the correct boxes and are accounted for.
The Village Fire Department reminds residents of fire safety this holiday season
“Just seeing families come through and being able to pick up things that they know they’ll be able to wrap and put under the tree for their children is extremely gratifying, knowing that they didn’t have to choose between Christmas presents for their children and rent or utility or whatever it might be. We’re able to step in and help in that gap,” Maj. Analese Ryerson with the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma said.
Ryerson said over 600 bikes, along with boxes full of bags of clothing and toys for different families, will go out to over 1,000 families this year, including 2,400 children…
