Anyone who wants to operate a short-term rental in Yukon who had done so previously without first obtaining the required special use permit and license must wait at least one year before applying for one.
This prohibition was enacted as part of an amendment to Chapter 215 of City of Yukon’s Unified Development Code, which was approved by a 5-0 vote during the Dec. 16th Yukon City Council meeting.
An operator of a short-term (30 days or less) rental that knowingly violates the city’s ordinance will be on “probation” for 12 months after paying all fees and any fines associated with that violation. But they will not be banned as had been originally proposed.
