OKC Parks offers free mulch program to recycle holiday trees and reduce landfill waste

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA. (KOKH) — Oklahoma City residents have the opportunity to recycle their live Christmas trees into free mulch through a program offered by OKC Parks.

From Dec. 26 to Jan. 15, residents can drop off their natural Christmas trees at two locations:

  • Will Rogers Park at 3600 Pat Murphy Dr.
  • Wheeler Park, at 1120 S. Western Ave.

Trees must be free of lights, ornaments, nails, stands, and artificial snow. Mulch can be collected from dawn until dusk at designated areas through Jan. 15. Residents must bring their own shovels and containers. Those who drop off a tree do not have to take mulch, and those who want to pick up mulch do not have to drop off a tree…
