OHP, other agencies bulking up NYE patrols, checkpoints to curb impaired driving

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – On Wednesday, we say goodbye to 2025 as we ring in the new year. Before you go out with friends and family, law enforcement wants you to make a plan to get home safely, as they’ll be out and about looking for impaired drivers.

Below is their latest plea as they bulk up patrols for the big night.

“So in 2023, we had over 700 people killed as a result of crashes in the state of Oklahoma, and nearly half of those killed involved an impaired driver,” Trooper Chad Pape with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said…
