Tom Selleck to Narrate a First-of-Its-Kind Cowboy Experience by the Creators of Immersive Van Gogh

If you think you already know the story of the American West, Oklahoma City is about to invite you to step inside it.

Opening today, January 2, “The Cowboy: An Immersive Journey” is a brand-new, 360-degree experience debuting at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum—and it’s unlike anything the museum has done before. Instead of reading placards or peering into display cases, visitors are surrounded by towering landscapes, cinematic sound, historic imagery and original music that brings the West to life in every direction.

The ambitious new exhibit was created in collaboration with Lighthouse Immersive, the team behind global hits like Immersive Van Gogh and Immersive Disney Animation, experiences that have drawn more than 10 million visitors worldwide. This marks their second project with the museum, following the successful Find Your Westinstallation in 2024.

Here, the story unfolds across five chapters, tracing the evolution of the cowboy from the land before cattle drives to the modern-day West. The journey is guided in part by the real-life journal of 19th-century cowboy Jack Bailey and narrated by none other than Tom Selleck, whose voice adds warmth and gravitas as viewers move through cattle drives, frontier towns, rodeo arenas and Hollywood’s larger-than-life legends…
