Childcare providers voice their concerns over new proposed emergency rules and regulations

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – State officials are looking to implement more requirements on childcare providers who say they’re already in jeopardy of closing their doors.

Childcare providers are pushing back on Friday, against a dozen changes and new training requirements from the Department of Human Services (DHS).

“DHS is attempting to rewrite the statute with rules. This is harmful to providers,” said one woman in attendance at the meeting on Friday.

“You know, it’s unfair. It’s kind of like we do all this work, get all this training, and here we are. They want half of the facilities to close,” said Shun Walton, a childcare provider…
