OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City leaders report a decline in both the homicide rate and the total number of homicides in 2025, continuing a multi-year trend of lower violent crime in the city.
In a social media post Saturday, Mayor David Holt said Oklahoma City recorded 74 homicides in 2025, a 5% decrease from the previous year. Holt said that figure represents the city’s ninth-lowest homicide total since 1990.
