EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) – A 40-year-old man is now in custody after breaking into an Edmond business during the weekend snowstorm and attempting to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise.
At around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, officers with the Edmond Police Department responded to a glass-break alarm at the Breakpoint Cards and Collectibles business near East Danforth Road and North Bryant Avenue.
When police arrived, they found a broken front window and an axe located inside the store. Officers were able to obtain surveillance video, which showed a White male, later identified as 40-year-old Jacob Mize, wearing a hoodie, sweatpants, and black shoes, breaking the window and smashing a display case with the axe while stealing high-valued Pokémon cards before fleeing the scene.

According to a police report, officers followed his footprints in fresh snow that was falling that night. The footprints led to the Sequoyah Middle School parking lot, where they turned into tire tracks.
