Couple recovering after pit bull attack outside Oklahoma City motel

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A local couple says they are grateful to be alive after they were attacked by multiple pit bulls outside an Oklahoma City motel, an incident they hope serves as a warning to dog owners about keeping animals secured.

Sarah Schaffner and Steven Daykin had been staying at a Motel 6 near Interstate 40 and Meridian Avenue when they stepped outside to their car Tuesday night.

They said four pit bulls suddenly ran out of a camper in the parking lot and approached them.

“We just tried to, you know, try to get ’em back in the camper,” said Daykin. “I walk the complex, try to see if I could get if I could find a vehicle capable of towing that camper so I could tell them, ‘Hey, your dogs are out.’”…
