Governor Stitt addresses State Regents for Higher Education, outlines workforce and degree initiatives

Oklahoma – Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt addressed the State Regents for Higher Education this week in Oklahoma City, highlighting recent accomplishments in the state’s public university system and outlining priorities for the future.

During his remarks, Stitt noted that 88 percent of degrees awarded in 2025 align with Oklahoma’s top workforce needs and highlighted research advancements at the University of Oklahoma in weather and radar, defense and aerospace, and cancer, as well as at Oklahoma State University in rural health, agriculture, and drone technology.
