OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — If you’re needing to get a new driver’s license or registration this week, listen up! Service Oklahoma is upgrading its software, and offices will be closed starting Thursday to allow for the upgrade.
It’s part of Project BOOST, which will make services more efficient, cut wait times in half, and tighten security measures to reduce fraud.
The website, “OkCARS,” is going away and turning into something called “Navigate.” It’s a site to renew your driver’s license or registration online, without visiting a location in person.

The incoming platform will also allow for standard transactions to be completed in under 10 minutes by reducing the required steps. Finally, all types of IDs will have enhanced fraud protection with material that resists cracking, bending, peeling, and tampering, along with engraved portrait pictures that are hard to forge.
This big upgrade will mean that offices need to close for a few days…
