OKLAHOMA CITY – Human remains found during construction work on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman have been confirmed to be those of educational cadavers, according to state and university leaders.
The Oklahoma Archaeological Survey (OAS) and the University of Oklahoma say the remains, located by crews at the Life Sciences Laboratories construction site on Feb. 19, were used for educational purposes in the early 1900s.
The remains were located in the area of the university’s former School of Biological Sciences, OU says, and their handling at the time followed standard practices.
