EDMOND − A judge has cleared the way for a long-contentious Walmart at Covell and Coltrane roads.
Oklahoma County District Judge Anthony L. Bonner found in favor of developer Jim Tapp’s Coltrane Land Development LLC, and against the city of Edmond, over Tapp’s plans to build a Walmart Neighborhood Market on the northwest corner of the busy intersection.
The site is a mile west of a growing retail and restaurant hub at Covell and Sooner roads, just west of Interstate 35. Abutting it on the west and south are residential additions, with others nearby, including people who opposed Tapp’s plan and one by another developer with the same basic plan a decade ago…
