Oklahoma is making rankings voters look foolish during historic run of dominance

Somehow, what the most dominant program in the country is doing is going unnoticed throughout college softball.

The Oklahoma Sooners on Monday stayed put at No. 5 in the latest Softball America College Softball Rankings and have been unable to move up recently in any of the major national rankings despite clearly being superior during a 20-game winning streak as voters seem to not be paying any attention to Norman.

Sooners getting overlook in top 25 while dominating competition

The rest of the top 5 ahead of the Sooners included three other SEC teams with Texas, Texas Tech, Florida and Tennessee, respectively, making up the top. In total, 10 of 15 SEC programs were represented in that latest set of rankings, including No. 6 Alabama, No. 9 Arkansas, No. 11 Georgia, No. 14 Mississippi State, No. 17 Texas A&M and No. 20 LSU. That makes for plenty of opportunity for the Sooners to prove themselves since what they’re doing right now apparently isn’t enough.

The 31-2 Sooners will look to complete another three-game sweep in SEC play with another win over Ole Miss on Monday evening. OU run-ruled the Rebels, who were receiving votes in rankings, in the first two games on Saturday and Sunday.
