USPS unveils new surcharge on shipping packages beginning in April

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The U.S. Postal Service says it will impose a new surcharge on packages to offset the rising fuel costs.

First reported by the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg, the 8% surcharge is set to start in April and end in January 2027.

Currently, the surcharge will only apply to packages, not letter mail…
