OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Tensions came to a head in Tuesday’s Jail Trust and County Budget Board Meeting after confusion with the detention center’s plummeting finances.
In early March, pay raises were given to employees of the Oklahoma County Detention Center, while the jail’s finances sat in a near $6M hole, threatening layoffs and outside intervention.
During the budget board meeting, Oklahoma County Court Clerk Rick Warren told Jail Administrator Tim Kimrey, “Basically, you’re talking about one little group, but you gave raises to everybody, and you gave bonuses.”
