Bellevue Approves Highway 370 Traffic Signal Retiming Project

The Bellevue City Council approved an agreement Tuesday with Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) for engineering services to retime traffic signals along Highway 370 between 48th Street and Arboretum Drive.

The agreement authorizes up to $88,250 in engineering services aimed at improving traffic flow along one of Bellevue’s busiest east-west corridors while also helping the city respond to traffic disruptions caused by the ongoing U.S. Highway 75 bridge rehabilitation project.

According to city documents, FHU will conduct a comprehensive traffic signal retiming study at eight signalized intersections along the corridor:

  • Highway 370 and 48th Street
  • Highway 370 and 42nd Street
  • Highway 370 and 36th Street
  • Highway 370 and Golden Boulevard
  • Highway 370 and 25th Street
  • Highway 370 and the southbound U.S. 75 ramps
  • Highway 370 and the northbound U.S. 75 ramps
  • Highway 370 and Arboretum Drive

The engineering firm will collect traffic data, perform field reviews, and develop updated signal timing plans designed to improve traffic progression along the corridor. The study will examine traffic conditions during morning, midday, evening and weekend periods…
