The West Virginia Mountaineers capped a historic baseball series with a run to the College World Series, and once in Omaha, they advanced to the Final Four at the event – but eventually, they fell short of their ultimate goal of a national championship. However, WVU baseball fans are leaving Omaha with a championship win to their name.
On Monday, as the Oklahoma Sooners took home the College World Series crown and the event came to a close, it was time to tally up the final numbers in the infamous jello shot challenge that takes place each season at Rocco’s, a well-known bar and restaurant in Omaha.
And while West Virginia fans didn’t come close to the all-time record of 68,888 shots held by LSU in 2023, they did manage to party hard enough to handle business against the other seven fan bases that gathered in Omaha and to take home the jello shot title this season.

With just one game remaining and West Virginia fans (mostly) cleared out of Omaha, the Mountaineers were in first place with 28,208 jello shots consumed – that placed them over 15,000 shots ahead of Oklahoma’s fans in a distant second place, and leaving little hope of a comeback for the opposition…
