‘Call 911′: Douglas County authorities ask public to report motorbike violations, not just record them

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Days after zeroing in on illegal youth dirt bike riders and their parents, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to report that activity to authorities by calling 911.

Last week, Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson issued a warning on social media that they would be cracking down on young kids riding dirt bikes on the roads, promising to impound the bike and cite the parents of any child caught driving recklessly on the roads with a non-street-legal dirt bike.

On Wednesday, DCSO posted an update that the sheriff’s Community Action Team was proactively investigating certain “hot spots” in the county. They also requested the public call 911 when they see such activity, not just send photos and videos to authorities…
