OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A North Omaha nonprofit is celebrating its third anniversary. Radius opened to keep troubled young men closer to home instead of sending them out of town or out of state for rehabilitation. Officials say their education, behavioral health and family support programs are working.
Three years of service
Radius President and CEO Nick Juliano says the organization has served more than 100 young men and families since opening.
“Many high school graduations, we have young men employed, they’ve returned home,” Juliano said.
Radius serves high-risk young men involved in the juvenile justice system, ages 12 to 18. According to data collected by the state, youth who complete the Radius program are 30 percent less likely to reoffend than high-risk youth participating in other programs…
