LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley’s office has issued audit letters to five local governments.
In a Tuesday news release, Foley’s office said letters have gone out to the Village of Herman in Washington County; the Village of Alvo in Cass County; and David City in Butler County; the Village of Merriman in Cherry County; and the Plains Historical Society in Kimball County.
In the letter to Herman, the auditor’s office says the village clerk used the municipal credit card on 39 personal purchases totaling $2,029.76 between October 2024 and February 2026. Items purchased include: an electric toothbrush, medications, toiletries, shampoo, and dozens of other personal items.
