MUD shuts gas meters off in Central Omaha neighborhood following outage

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Metropolitan Utilities District (MUD) crews have shut off gas meters for approximately 100 homes in Central Omaha following a gas outage.

According to MUD officials, the outage impacted residents in the area of 69th and Burt streets up to 70th Street and Western Avenue.

On Wednesday night, the Omaha Police Department (OPD) sent out a Wireless Emergency Alert to the affected area advising residents of the outage. The alert stated that MUD crews would be going door-to-door to shut off gas meters and would return later to re-light appliances.
