Remembering the 5 Nebraskans killed in Sept. 11 attacks

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – As the nation reflects on the 9/11 terror attacks 25 years later, the state is remembering the five Nebraskans who died at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.

Capt. Larry Getzfred, originally from Elgin, was on duty at the Navy Command Center at the Pentagon on the day of the attacks.

Julie Geis played on the Husker softball team while she was in college. She was senior vice president at AON Corp., working at Two World Trade Center on the day of the attacks…
