OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A member of the Islamic State group ISIS-K has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his part in the killing of Marine Cpl. Daegan Page of Nebraska. Daegan and 12 other U.S. service members were killed in a suicide bombing at a Kabul airport in 2021.
The U.S. Department of Justice said Afghan national Mohammed Sharifullah aided the attack by ensuring the route to the airport was clear for the bomber.
The DOJ said he also assisted with other ISIS-K attacks for a decade, providing surveillance for attacks and video recording explosions for propaganda purposes, among other things.
