OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man accused in a 2023 Fort Calhoun killing avoided the death penalty Wednesday after reaching a plea deal that will send him to prison for the rest of his life.
William Collins, 33, made a deal to avoid the death penalty. Three years ago, Collins murdered 71-year-old Linda Childers after breaking into her Fort Calhoun home.
