COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – The Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office reviewed an incident between Council Bluffs Mayor Jill Shudak and City Councilman Steve Gorman following a Sept. 14 council meeting and declined to pursue criminal charges.
What led to the incident
According to the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s report, a citizen criticized Gorman during the public comment period of the Sept. 14 council meeting. The report states Shudak addressed the citizen by name, leading Gorman to believe she was working with the citizen.
After the meeting, Gorman is seen on video walking up to Shudak’s car. Shudak shared the footage on her Facebook page. The county attorney’s report says Gorman was venting about the meeting to other council members.
As Shudak was about to enter her car, Gorman stopped and walked over to her. He can be seen approaching the car and standing between the door and Shudak. There is no audio in the video, so First Alert 6 cannot confirm what was said. After some time, Gorman left, and Shudak drove away.
