COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – A Council Bluffs resident recently received a Carnegie Medal, one of the highest honors for a civilian, for saving his father’s life during an attack in December.
Erik Opal remembers the sound of his father’s voice.
“I heard my dad yelling… he doesn’t yell like that normally. Why is he yelling like that?” Opal said.
