OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Vet bills, pet food and grooming costs are climbing, and some Omaha families say they are feeling it.
At the Nebraska Humane Society’s annual March of the Animals Walk and Dog Fest, hundreds of Omaha pet owners came together to celebrate their animals. For many, that love comes with a growing price tag.
“I think it is kind of more expensive. I think a lot of the dog food companies are a little bit overpriced than what they need to be. A lot of them say they’re for dogs, but they create a product that’s so expensive but they create a product that’s so expensive and a lot of families-people, that want to own dogs really can’t afford them,” said Carlos Delgado, an Omaha pet owner.

Delgado has raised dogs his whole life. He said the cost of care has changed so much that it has shrunk his own family’s pack…
