A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 132nd and Blondo Streets in west Omaha around 9 a.m. Friday and taken to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said. The crash shut down part of one of the city’s busier west-side corridors during the morning commute.
According to KETV, the victim was hit near the intersection and rushed to the hospital, where their condition was listed as critical. No further details about the victim’s identity or the driver involved had been released as of Friday afternoon.
This is not the first time 132nd and Blondo has seen serious injuries. In late December, emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the same intersection that sent three people to the hospital, including a male driver who was partially ejected from his vehicle and listed in critical condition, according to footage and reporting from Omaha Scanner.
