Quite the spread in temperatures across the state; scattered showers continue to streak across areas outside of southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Wet weather will remain a part of the forecast, especially across western and central areas of Nebraska Sunday and into Monday. The best chances stay focused on areas northwest of Lincoln and Omaha.

Sunday into Monday: Rain Chances Highest Northwest of Southeast Nebraska

Sunday: Most of Sunday morning and early afternoon should stay dry, but rain chances will increase Sunday evening after 6 p.m. The best chances will remain northwest of the Columbus-Norfolk-Wayne line. Lincoln and Omaha have less than a 25% chance of measurable rain, but scattered showers are still possible.

There will be quite the range in high temperatures on Sunday, too.

Monday: Rain chances continue, particularly for northeast Nebraska. The rest of eastern Nebraska has lower chances, but don’t rule out some showers.

There will be quite the spread in high temperatures on Monday, too, with a range from west to east of almost 40 degrees.

Rain amounts through Monday night will especially add up for central and western areas of the state. In Lincoln, we’re anticipating totals around 0.10″, if not less.

AND, there may be a changeover to some snowflakes flying through the air Monday for those to see in the Chadron area (the northwest corner of the state). Any of that snow would be the type to not add up to much nor stay around that long.

Tuesday: A Break Before More Rain Returns

Tuesday should bring a much-needed break in the rain — a good day to catch up on outdoor tasks. Highs will reach the upper 50s and 60s across the region.

Wednesday Through Friday: Periodic Rain Showers Return

Rain chances will return late Tuesday and continue periodically Wednesday through Friday as moisture moves back into the area. These won’t be all-day rain events — just scattered showers here and there…
