Omaha Police arrested a man for assaulting an Uber driver and a Family Dollar store employee, leading to serious injuries but not life-threatening.
Omaha Police have apprehended 28-year-old William Dimas II following a violent incident at a local Family Dollar store, where he allegedly assaulted an Uber driver and a store employee. The incident occurred on the evening of January 24th, near 30th and Sprague.
According to the Omaha Police Department, the confrontation began after Dimas, having been transported to the store by an Uber, demanded the vehicle’s key fob from the driver.
Refusing to comply, the driver was then stabbed in the neck and chest by Dimas, according to the police report. Following the attack, Dimas entered the Family Dollar store armed with a knife and proceeded to hold an employee against their will.
KLKN reported that store employees, in an attempt to defend themselves and their colleagues, resorted to using a metal pole against Dimas. The Omaha Police, responding to a robbery report, arrested Dimas at the scene.
