Woman arrested after pursuit along Interstate 29 near Council Bluffs

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – Traffic on Interstate 29 going into Council Bluffs was at a standstill late Tuesday morning after a brief pursuit. The Iowa State Patrol tells 6 News it had an aircraft up over Mills County around 10:45 a.m. when it spotted a car going north at 98 miles per hour. A trooper on the ground attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, even using the shoulder to pass traffic. The trooper initiated a pursuit and followed the vehicle for “quite a distance.”
