Omaha fire crews, utilities respond to gas leak at vacant home

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A gas leak at a vacant north Omaha home drew a sizable response from utility and fire crews Friday morning. Crews were called to a home at 49th Street and Redman Avenue around 9:20 a.m. Metropolitan Utilities District officials called Omaha Fire to the home after discovering a gas leak. MUD told OFD there were high levels of gas inside the home and that meters were alarming on the outside. Gas was shut off to the structure before OFD arrived.
