Omaha firefighter suffers minor injury while battling vacant house blaze

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha fire investigators say a firefighter was injured while responding to a blaze at a vacant home Sunday morning. OFD says crews were called to a vacant two-story home near 47th Avenue and Izard Street just after 7 a.m. and arrived to heavy smoke and flames seen from several blocks away. The home was found to be vacant, with evidence of squatters found throughout.
