Spellerberg says he will veto salary increases for elected officials

Fremont Mayor Joey Spellerberg confirmed to Walnut Media Thursday afternoon that he will veto any salary increases for elected officials. Councilmen Mark Jensen and James Vaughan brought the issue before the council on Tuesday night. The proposal would have the mayor’s salary increase from $12,000 to $20,000 a year while council members would see a hike from $6,000 to $10,000.
