Man Found With Fentanyl At Omaha Airport Sentenced To Prison

(Omaha, NE) — A Colorado man has been sentenced to federal prison after thousands of fentanyl pills were found in his suitcase at Omaha’s Eppley Airport. Investigators say they asked 43-year-old Kene Coleman about a suitcase near the baggage carousel area. Coleman agreed to talk with the investigator, but then started running and was tackled by other officers. A search pursuant to a warrant uncovered more than 6,000 fentanyl pills in the suitcase. Coleman was sentenced November 7, 2024, in federal court in Omaha, Nebraska for possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced Coleman to 151 months’ imprisonment. There is no parole in the federal system. After Coleman’s release from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release.
