WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men’s tennis team dominated across the board in their opener on their way to a 6-1 win over the Omaha Mavericks at Genesis Rock Road on Saturday afternoon.
The win for the Shockers is their first of the year, improving to 1-2 on the year. Omaha drops to 1-3 with the loss.
Doubles was highly competitive early on, but some solid, mid-set play across the board gave the Shockers their first doubles point of the season. Freshmen Zaid Al Mashni and Luca Mindrut picked up their first doubles dual wins of their careers with a 6-3 win at court three.
