OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man who led authorities on a chase through West Omaha last month learned his sentence in court.
Savontae Conover-Drummond was sentenced to 60 days in jail and two years without a driver’s license after pleading “no contest” to operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest. He was given credit for 39 days served.
On the night of Feb. 1, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were made aware of a vehicle, driven by Conover-Drummond, fleeing from Bennington Police. Deputies observed the traveling 85 mph down 132nd Street in Omaha and initiated a pursuit.
Deputies backed off due to the sporadic way in which Conover-Drummond was operating the vehicle — driving on the center line, running stop lights, and traveling as fast as twice the speed limit…
