SWAT rescues two children after Lincoln man threatens to poison them with carbon monoxide, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man accused of threatening to kill two children at his home over the weekend was arraigned in Lancaster County Court on Monday.

Ronald Banse, 41, was charged with one count of intentional child abuse resulting in no injury. A judge set his bond at 10% of $50,000.

Lincoln Police officers were called to Banse’s home in the area of 44th and Calvert streets at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday for a welfare check. According to court documents, a woman reported that Banse had threatened to kill her two children, aged 4 and 7, who were staying at the home by poisoning them with carbon monoxide.
