Omaha, NE – Severe thunderstorms are expected across eastern Nebraska Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning, with hail and damaging winds posing the greatest threat.
According to the National Weather Service Omaha/Valley, the highest risk period spans from 4 p.m. Tuesday through 1 a.m. Wednesday as storms move west to east across the region. The agency placed much of eastern Nebraska, including Omaha, Lincoln, and Norfolk, under a Level 2 (Slight Risk) for severe weather. Areas further west remain under a lower risk designation.
Forecasters say there’s at least a 50% chance for severe storms to develop Tuesday evening, with scattered to numerous thunderstorms expected.
