Omaha closes recycling drop-off site

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The city has closed one of its recycling drop-off locations to make way for planned development there.

A plan to use TIF money to redevelop a site at 72nd and Farnam streets, where the recycling site was located, went before the Omaha City Council for the first reading on March 25. A developer wants to build 176 “market rate” apartments there.

With the site near 72nd and Farnam streets now closed, FCC Environmental is working to find a new drop-off location that is still in the central Omaha area…
