4 homes destroyed, 28 damaged in Irvington area hit by tornado

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office warned the public Friday that anyone trying to loot tornado-damaged areas will immediately be arrested.

Sheriff’s deputies have increased patrols in areas hit hard by the storms. Those patrols will continue to do so 24/7 for the next several days — and deputies will arrest anyone caught looting.

“We will not be giving any second chances here,” they said at Friday’s news conference. “If people come into this area looting, trying to steal from the victims in these situations, we will not be giving warnings. We will be arresting you a booking you.”…
