Tornado of Historic Proportions Ravages Iowa: A Night of Destruction

In a terrifying turn of events, a monstrous tornado ripped through Fremont and Page counties on the night of April 17, leaving a trail of devastation that will be etched in the memories of residents forever. Officially classified as an EF-1, this tornado has now claimed the title of the widest ever recorded in Iowa’s history.

At approximately 8:32 p.m., the storm unleashed its fury, touching down just southeast of Randolph. Witnesses described the ominous roar as the tornado barreled south of Imogene, its colossal vortex stretching an astonishing 3,130 yards wide—roughly 500 yards wider than the previous record-holder.
