Things to do: Omaha’s Cinco de Mayo weekend festivities start Friday

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – South Omaha is celebrating its Latino culture this weekend.

The 105th annual Cinco de Mayo Omaha festival, held along South 24th Street between L and O streets, gets started Friday evening and continues all day Saturday and Sunday. Wander through exhibits from local vendors, enjoy the food and the carnival and take in the music and art displays.

You can stop by the health fair at 24th and N streets between 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday for free screenings and other essential services.

That’s also where you can find the carnival, with rides (for ages 12 and younger), face-painting, and vendors selling toys and clothing items. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
