(Oakland) The trial for an Oakland man charged in connection with a fatal UTV crash has been continued until next month, according to court records.
Gene Fritz, 85, is facing a charge of Homicide by Vehicle – Reckless Driving following a December 26, 2024 incident that resulted in the death of 83-year-old Sandra Madron. Fritz entered a plea of not guilty in March. His jury trial was originally scheduled to begin today but has now been rescheduled for June 10.
The crash occurred at 570 North Highway Street. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the UTV on the sidewalk and Madron lying on her left side. She was transported to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, where she later died from her injuries…
