Windy conditions halt flight of restored World War II aircraft in Council Bluffs

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) – Winds sweeping through Iowa Saturday halted a planned flight of a restored 1940 PT-19 World War II-era plane at the Council Bluffs Airport.

The plan was an orientation flight to celebrate Offutt Air Force Base’s Airman of the Year recipient SRA Taryn Tapahonso, however, winds paused the voyage for now.
